The philosophy
Sail with Nature – Low Impact, High Connection
Welcome you aboard a new kind of adventure—where the wind is your engine and nature is your guide. Our mission is simple: to explore coastlines, islands, and open waters while leaving the smallest footprint behind. Sailing offers a unique way to connect with the natural world—quietly, sustainably, and respectfully.
We embrace slow travel, powered by wind and guided by a deep respect for marine life and ecosystems. Whether you’re an experienced sailor or a curious beginner, our approach invites you to experience the sea in its purest form: unhurried, mindful, and in harmony with the environment.
Adventure stripped back to its essence.
However, this isn’t luxury cruising—it’s raw, real adventure at sea. We sail close to nature, powered by wind, driven by curiosity, and move through the world with minimal impact. No engines roaring. No crowded ports. Just you, the boat, and the wild. From remote anchorages to snow-covered peaks, empty waves to silent underwater worlds—this journey is for those who crave the wild.
Our expeditions combine sailing with raw, human-powered adventures: backcountry skiing and snowboarding from the boat, surfing uncrowded breaks, freediving in clear blue depths, or simply exploring rugged coastlines under your own steam. No crowds. No noise. Just nature—and your place in it.
If you’re seeking challenge, adventure, and a deeper connection to the planet, this is your kind of wild.

The crew
Robin

Meet Robin – Skipper, Adventurer, All-Round Waterman
With over 25,000 nautical miles under his belt and an RYA license to back it up, Robin is as seasoned as they come. He’s our energetic skipper—firm but fair, always up for a laugh, and completely at home on the water. He knows the wind, the waves, and the boat Mencia like the back of his hand.
When he’s not trimming sails or fine-tuning the engine, he’s likely chasing waves in the lineup, windsurfing, or carving fresh lines on a splitboard in the nearest mountain range. Whether it’s a calm passage or a wild crossing, Robin brings skill, good humor, and a true spirit of adventure to every journey.
Sammy
Meet Sammy – First Mate, quartermaster & Explorer
STCW-trained and steady at the helm, Sammy is Mencia’s good-tempered first mate and sharp-eyed navigator. She keeps Mencia shipshape, during navigation or provisioning. Always keeping the boat ready for anything, from open crossings to hidden anchorages.
When she’s not on deck, she’s in the water—surfing, freediving—or behind her camera, capturing the quiet moments in wild places. On land, she’s hiking or splitboarding, always with an eye for the wild beauty around her.

The boat
Mencia
Meet Mencia — Our Trusty Standfast P40
Our floating home for nearly three years, Mencia is a classic 40-foot Standfast P40 built in 1982 in Breskens, The Netherlands. She’s equally at ease under sail or powered by her reliable inboard engine, offering both adventure and comfort on the water.
From her well-protected cockpit, you can relax outside and savor every moment of the journey, rain or shine. Below deck, she sleeps up to seven: a double berth in the forward cabin, three singles in the aft cabin, and two more in the communal area.
The cozy galley is fully equipped with an oven to keep meals warm and hearty. A diesel heater warms the entire boat and doubles as a dryer for all our gear after long days exploring. Freshen up with the onboard hot shower, and thanks to nearby marina facilities, you’ll always be ready for a night out onshore—no matter how long the adventure.

Mencia’s Sailing Plan – Rigged for Adventure
Mencia’s cutter rigged with all the gear to keep things interesting—a furling forestay, removable inner forestay, a removable cutterstay, and even a babystay! This flexible setup lets us tweak the sails just right, no matter what the wind throws our way.
